The traditional AR-15 charging handle, designed in the 1950s, leaves much to be desired with its small latch on just the left side that must be pressed to release the charging handle from the upper receiver. In contrast, the Raptor charging handle is designed with an entire lever that you grab on either side to operate. This lever has a slight forward angle and a large, serrated surface for added grip. This makes the Raptor charging handle much easier to operate compared to the traditional design.

Additionally, magnified optics can sometimes make it difficult to operate a standard charging handle. The Raptor solves this issue, with the right-side lever slightly extended to better clear the forward assist button. It’s an no-brainer, drop-in upgrade that will enhance the usability of any AR-15.
