The Daniel Defense 16″ Government Profile, mid-length gas, 1:7 twist, Cold Hammer Forged barrel is crafted entirely in their state-of-the-art facility in Black Creek, GA. Upholding a tradition of excellence, these chrome-lined barrels feature a forged chamber and premium exterior coating. The cold hammer forging process, known for its durability and precision, ensures these barrels are more accurate and longer-lasting compared to those with cut or button rifling. During this process, intense hydraulic pressure is applied by carbide steel hammers from opposing angles. A mandrel is inserted into the bore as the hammers shape the barrel around it, forming the chamber, lands, and grooves. This method not only results in a flawless bore but also produces the most consistent chamber possible. Gas block and front sight block are not included.
